The Challenge

The Solution
Birlasoft implemented a comprehensive, two-phase solution leveraging Oracle's advanced cloud platforms:
Phase 1:
- Replaced the legacy Rapid Planning system with Oracle Demand Management Cloud and Oracle Supply Planning Cloud
- Integrated Oracle Supply Planning Cloud with Oracle EBS R12.2 using BOOMI middleware.
- Implemented solutions across two core business divisions:
- Transit: Producing electric buses
- Powered: Manufacturing battery packs for EV buses and other electric vehicle manufacturers
Phase 2:
- Implemented Oracle Demand Management Cloud and Oracle Supply Planning Cloud, fully migrating the planning processes
- Utilized BOOMI middleware for smooth integration between Oracle EBS and Oracle SaaS Cloud
- Developed a demand planning strategy using historical data and user-managed forecasts to drive supply planning
- Monitored key forecasting accuracy metrics, including Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) and Percentage Bias, by comparing forecasts against actual sales orders
- Established a daily global supply planning routine, along with Clear-to-Build (CTB) reports, to ensure timely release of work orders based on material availabilityg
- Ran daily global supply planning operations, producing Clear-to-Build (CTB) reports to effectively manage work orders and inventory availability, which improved shop floor productivity.
