Network Transformation for a US based Global Medical Devices Manufacturer
Network Transformation for a US based Global Medical Devices Manufacturer
Customer Overview
The customer is a leader in disability equipment and operates in 20+ countries. They wanted to transform their ageing Network infrastructure.
Business Challenges
The customer faced slow network performance due to Old Architecture and cablings and had ageing hardware. There were Network security compliance lapses and no defined data recovery mechanism. Manual intervention was required for failovers to redundant links. There was lack of network design standardization across locations.
The Network infrastructure comprised of Cisco and Arista switches, Cisco routers, Cisco and Aruba wireless devices, Cisco ASA, Fortinet firewalls and Zscaler Proxy.
Birlasoft Solution
Birlasoft undertook multiple transformation projects for the customer. Birlasoft did systematic refresh of aged hardware and that helped improve the network performance. Birlasoft undertook periodic Vulnerability assessments and resolutions to make the network compliant and refined the configuration backup procedures. Automatic failover mechanisms were configured to minimize manual interventions for seamless failovers.
The network design was standardized across locations by grading the sites as per business priority. Layer 1 through Layer 3 assessments were conducted, and corrective measures taken to improve the network performance. Performance Analysis of existing fiber strand was done and accordingly cabling setup was refurbished. Performance testing using testing tools such Penta scanner was done. We deployed Hybrid Network infrastructure and integrated Zscaler for MFA and End point protection.
