Customer Overview
The customer is a Global Medical Technology company specializing in oxygen therapy and respiratory solutions. They were undergoing a multi phase modernization of their global network, cloud connectivity, and security stack.
Business Challenges
The customer had a Legacy SD WAN Setup comprising of Silver Peak based WAN with limited cloud alignment. They had a Split Edge Design with Internet on Palo Alto firewalls and WAN on Silver Peak. There was Routing Complexity with Core switch steering traffic via static routes and default path to firewalls.
They had outdated Remote Access with Traditional VPN for remote users with no ZTNA support. They had On Prem Only Security with Internet filtering dependent solely on Palo Alto and no cloud based SSE. There were also Multi Cloud gaps. The Azure and OCI workloads lacked optimized routes and integrated security.
The Solution
Birlasoft transformed the customer’s network with a unified SASE architecture.
Migration from Silver Peak WAN was done to Netskope Borderless WAN (SD WAN) for consistent, cloud optimized routing. The Legacy VPN was replaced with Netskope Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), enabling identity based access. Decommissioning of Palo Alto centric Internet Breakout Model and movement to full cloud delivered security was done.
End to End SSE Deployment included SWG, DLP, Threat Protection, CASB, and ZTNA. Unified Edge Security was enabled via distributed inspection, eliminating dependency on on prem firewalls. Cloud Connectivity Optimization was done using a SASE fabric for Azure and OCI workloads.
Standardized Routing Architecture was set up with traffic steering, QoS, and Zero Trust enforcement.
