The Customer is a US based leading global Oil and Natural Gas services company with presence across 75+ countries.
The in-scope Network landscape comprised of Cisco switches, Cisco routers and Cisco and HPE Wireless devices spread across 50+ countries globally and in the 2 customer data centers in the US.
Business Challenges
The customer had multiple vendors to coordinate with for Hardware, software, implementation services, maintenance services and managed services. Customer wanted single point accountability and Network as a service (NaaS) encompassing all the above with an Opex based pricing model and SLAs linked to project execution and network availability across the sites.
In addition, more than 80% of the devices were EOL / EOS leading to performance and security risks and needed immediate refresh. They were looking for the partner to design the solution to meet the availability requirements across the sites and execute the refresh globally as per agreed timelines.

Birlasoft provided a 5-year NaaS solution covering hardware, software, services (implementation, maintenance, and managed services), buyback of existing assets at WDV, refresh of assets as per agreed timelines and novation of existing contracts. The entire heterogeneous landscape was standardized on Cisco platform. High availability architecture was designed across the various category of sites as per business priority.
