The customer is a leader in roofing and building materials with presence across US, Canada and Europe and having a strength of more than 3,500 employees.
Business Challenges
The customer had End-of-Life Applications & Infrastructure. The Operating Systems and Database versions were EOSL making them vulnerable in the absence of security patches.
The OS was a mix of Windows, Linux and Solaris and Databases were MS SQL and Oracle.
Birlasoft Solution
Birlasoft did a discovery of Servers and Databases and did Dependency Mapping. Workshop was conducted with the customer to check compatibility matrix for H/W, OS, DB versions for the applications and check inter dependencies. Detailed upgrade plan was created, and roadmap made to remediate the EOSL components. The OS and DBs were upgraded to application’s compatible versions using both In-place upgrades and migration of services to new servers.
