The customer wanted the partner to manage the database operations 24x7x365 with requisite SLAs and KPIs.
Many of the databases and underlying physical servers were EOL resulting in availability, scalability and performance issues. In addition, customer was looking at migrating some databases to the cloud to address the application requirements..
Birlasoft Solution
Birlasoft implemented SLA driven and Tools and automation enabled database managed service leveraging Birlasoft Sigma platform. The database scope includes MS SQL and Oracle. The MS SQL scope includes associated services – SSRS, SSIS, SSAS.
MS SQL databases (200+ instances) were upgraded from 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 to 2019. In addition, some of the MS SQL instances, both standalone and clustered, were migrated to AWS IAAS and some to AWS RDS leveraging the iMigrate Birlasoft migration framework.
Oracle databases were also upgraded from 11g to 19c. The underlying Linux hardware was also upgraded.
