Business Situation
The client was using Oracle EBS 11.5.10 which included Finance, Project Accounting, Manufacturing, Procurement, Order Management, and a separate ASCP application instance. Upgrade project entailed application upgrade to R12.2.7, DB upgrade to 12C, and platform migration to EXADATA stack. The application landscape was extremely complex with more than 5000 custom objects deployed and numerous 3rd party applications integrated with the ERP. These complexities required careful upgrade planning and execution. Being a supplier to US defense, the client also had mandatory ITAR compliance needs.

Birlasoft Solution
Using ‘Route to 12.2’ solution Birlasoft successfully upgraded Oracle E-Business Suite and ASCP from 11i to R12.2.7 in multiple complex iterative stages. The engagement entailed application, database upgrades, and migration to the EXADATA platform. Considering the complexity of the engagement, four conference room pilots were planned as a part of project execution. Eight upgrade iterations were carried out to ensure smooth cutover.
