Daikin goes live with Microsoft Azure-Based Modern Data Analytics Platform to assist the Sales Forecasting and Planning system. Daikin facilitated a unique cloud D&A platform modernization powered by Microsoft Azure Tech stack with Oracle EBS.
Problem Statement
Daikin required Data & Analytics Modernization to create a cutting-edge sales and operations planning platform within nine months.

  • Integrating data from multiple internal and external sources with 100 data integration points to create a data pipeline.
  • Data Extraction from disparate external sources such as Oracle EBS, SQL Server, CSV/Excel, cloud databases, and Dodge Analytics.
  • Deploying Azure Data platform with Power BI to create data visualization replacing the legacy excel based planning and forecasting system.
  • Implementing a data lake with disparate data sources. Achieving key data insights, publishing reports, and dashboard presentations to empower Sales ops.
  • Identifying and Deploying tools for data ingestion from disparate sources to establish a data lake.
  • Building analytics model for extensive data to forecast and assist decision-making in sales and operations.

Birlasoft embarked on this multi-year EIM journey with Stryker in 2021 to modernize Field Inventory Management systems across various divisions by replacing legacy applications like Mobile Workforce and FIMS with completely inhouse custom built EIM product having both web and mobile capabilities.
The rollouts had to be in sync with the overall Accelerate roadmap.

Capstone is a risk mitigation plan to safeguard Stryker legacy ERP systems during the multi-year rollout of SAP Accelerate. Different versions of QAD were used for operations in LATAM; existing QAD instances were due for upgrade in September 2020.
Brazil - QAD 2007 | Colombia - QAD 2010 | Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Export/PuertoRico/HQ - QAD eB2
Stryker decided to migrate the QAD instance to JDE 9.2 instead of upgrading it with a Vision is to build JDE 9.2 as a global instance. JD Edwards solution for LATAM would be hosted on a cloud platform.
Wave 1 or Pilot deployment – Brazil | Wave 2 – México, Argentina, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Chile
The Fiscal solutions must be compatible with both JDE and SAP to be flexible to migrate to SAP in the long run. Below we have the Roadmap for Stryker LATAM

Wave 1 – Standing up a cloud based JDE solution (as vanilla as possible) and migrating LATAM QAD starting with Brazil, Go Live on July 2021.
Wave 2 – Migration of the rest of LATAM QAD to the new JDE cloud platform starting in Nov 2021. We completed this in three waves
  • Wave 2A – Mexico went live on Nov 2021
  • Wave 2B – Argentina, Columbia & Puerto Rico went live on Dec. 2021
  • Wave 2C – Chile went live on April 2022

  • Athena Ortho Reporting: Athena is a sales and marketing analytics benchmark for Stryker. The Athena Ortho has been built on top of Artemis.

  • Artemis phase 1 & 2 went LIVE in October’ 2022.
  • Artemis go-live & one source decommissioning communications has been shared with all stakeholders.
Challenges
  • On-premises Oracle platform with multiple reporting platforms comprising of Individual data models/ tables/ schemas with siloed reporting.
  • Code and platform maintenance challenges due to multiple teams/ technologies involved.
  • Performance issues with limited scalability & high cost of ownership
